Hi all,
Given the recent disruption to some of the proposed training we felt it an
appropriate time to give you an update on the availability of pool space.
For those that are not aware, we operate on a subsidy arrangement with the
council where we are allocated pool space each week without the requirement of
paying the pool hire fee. For any other times we wish to use, there is a charge
of around $65 per hour per half of the pool.
We are continually working with the Council to try and broaden our subsidy.
John Zagame and Tony Quinn met with the Director - Community and Recreation
Services regarding some additional time for Winter. The outcome from this
meeting is that John and Tony will be locking in a time with the Mayor in the
near future to discuss our arrangements.
The frustration levels are as high within the club committee as they are in our
parents and kids who wish to train, particularly when we see the pool sitting
idle through the week.
Following the recent meeting, we have formally written to the council to ask
for Tuesday nights and a couple of mornings a week for training. We are yet to
hear back but it has been followed up.
We will keep you updated as we (hopefully) make progress.
